The health issues were exhaustive and included irritability (60%), headache (53%), difficulty concentrating (50%), less happiness (49%), reluctance to go to school/kindergarten (44%), malaise (42%) impaired learning (38%) and drowsiness or fatigue (37%).”
Many consistent with symptoms of OXYGEN DEPRIVATION

Yet there is a certain Freeper on this very thread that has no problem with being a mask-hole or mask NAZI or Karen. (Take your pick)
A surgeon typically wears a mask in surgery for 1 to 4 hrs. We are wearing these masks for 12 to 14 hrs a day while in public, this in itself is unhealthy and will cause problems later on. One more way to kill us all

Yet some Freepers think a teacher can wear that shiite (plus face shield and gloves) for 4 to 6 hours a day and still deliver content...
They left out acne and severely chapped lips both of which my & year old has. The. there are the dental problems that may take a while to manifest
my daughter has had several colds despite the mask wearing. Masks don’t work
Masks don’t work and cause real harm. The physical effects are bad enough but the psychological and developmental effects are worse. Language and social development are slowed, and kids are taught to be fearful of others. Masking is one of the worst things we have done to our children in a long time
Once in the classroom out kids and teachers take the masks off. As bad as it is they only wear them in hallways and common areas. Even that has given my daughter skin and mouth problems. I agree it is not possible to run a classroom wearing face diapers the whole time - they are not needed which makes the dictates worse
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

College administration has been extremely adamant that any student, faculty or staff caught on campus with out face masks, face shields and gloves will be banned from campus
But some here demand it of teachers
References? Preferably peer-reviewed and published in reputable medical journals?
Since the beginning of the pandemic, many researchers have conducted controlled studies of various aspects of mask wearing.
In any case, how can a mask possibly prevent gas exchange while simultaneously allowing free passage of viruses that are a thousand times as large as gas molecules?
kids are taught to be fearful of others
And what is the issue with that? What kind of parent would teach their kids to unquestioningly trust everyone? All of a sudden, the wisdom that parents try to impart to their children--don't talk to strangers, cover your mouth when you cough, wash your hands frequently, etc.--is bad?
I remember having a conversation with a gynecologist about how new cleanliness standards always take a generation to take root. She was referring to the work of Dr. Joseph Lister who came up with the revolutionary idea that doctors should wash their hands between patients, but she could just as easily have been talking about the current efforts to control Covid-19. Older people who dislike masks and other measures whine and find all kinds of excuses to refuse to wear them. The kids take to them just fine. I don't think it will take long at all, and you'll see that Americans and Europeans are just as quick to throw masks on as Asians.
