I drive around N.J. because of the NRA sticker on all my vehicles.
State police there will stop you and inspect your vehicle when they see an NRS sticker.
They find a weapon and you will become familiar with their jail and court systems. Or should I say their graft, corruption and shake down operation.

Agree, I sit in the mall reading, just an old guy on a bench, no threat....with 18 live rounds, a laser sight and weekly practice at the range under my belt. As soon as I open carry, I’m not the threat, I’m the first target of the bad guys. Open carry is BLING..look at me, I’m important I have a big gun...and I would be certifiably STUPID letting everybody know. SURE it is my constitutional right to open carry. So what, I’m armed and lethal. What is the need? I gave up playing cowboy about 70 years ago.

Alternately, you are the easy mark.

With an open carried pistol, you become the hard target to be avoided.

It works both ways.

There are real life examples of both.

The major advantage of open carry is the political statement.

It is strong, protected, symbolic, political speech.

No they are not. They are extremely expensive and require registration in the federal database and ATF approval but you can buy them. Sad tale to tell in 1981 or 82. I saw an ad for NIB M-60s for $2100 in Shotgun News. I thought about buying one but decided to put it off. Saw an ad on the internet a couple of weeks ago for a used one for $62,000. Hindsight is always 2020.
