Why Joe Biden Didn't Want This Prosecutor Fired
Townhall.com ^ | February 13, 2021 | Fred Lucas

Posted on 02/13/2021 3:46:36 AM PST by Kaslin

Joe Biden famously told Ukrainian leaders regarding a prosecutor investigating Burisma – where his son served as a board member -- “If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.” The Ukrainians fired the prosecutor after the 2015 ultimatum and maintained the $1 billion U.S. loan.

As it turns out, the prosecutor in the United States investigating Hunter Biden more directly didn’t suffer the same fate. President Biden’s purging of the Justice Department dodged what might have been a scandal in his first month in office by allowing Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss to stay in his job.

The U.S. attorney’s investigation could potentially expand in many directions, as Hunter Biden’s web of business deals span the globe, as detailed in my book, “Abuse of Power.” This could turn into a severe headache for the president and the entire administration.

The decision to keep Weiss was a double-edged sword for the administration, but firing him would have been a much sharper edge by avoiding what could have turned into a scandal—even if he did fire the other U.S. attorneys.

Media compliance has its limits, and sacking Weiss risked appalling optics for the new administration. It would have given Republicans an excuse to demand a special counsel – since a Biden-appointed prosecutor could hardly seem an honest broker for delving into his son’s ventures, and Attorney General-nominee Merrick Garland could feel compelled to distance himself from such a case.

Presidents Donald Trump and Bill Clinton learned that special prosecutor probes can become unwieldy affairs that consume a presidency.

The most potentially troubling issue for President Biden himself is Hunter’s deal with CEFC, one of China’s largest energy firms. The New York Post reported on a trove of emails referring to a “remuneration packages.” One message mentioned “10 Jim” and “10 held by H for the big guy?” The presumption is a reference of 10 percent and that “Jim” is Jim Biden (Joe's brother) and the “big guy” is Joe Biden. That’s not certain at this point.

Then of course there was Hunter’s job on the board of directors for Burisma, the Ukraine energy firm, getting paid $50,000 per month while his father handled the Obama administration’s Ukraine policy. The then-vice president also pressured the Ukrainian government to fire a prosecutor that was investigating Burisma. This matter that played a key role in the first Trump impeachment may not yet be over.

Emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop even show connections with Burisma and VP Biden’s office, according to computer repairman John Paul Macisaac, who had access to the laptop before handing it off to the FBI.

“There was a lot of coordination. I saw a couple of emails coming directly out of the White House to members of Burisma staff, including the vice president’s schedule, any discussions that were going on about Ukraine and policies with Ukraine, and policies with Ukraine were being sent directly to Vadym, who is the number two at Burisma,” Issac said during an interview with Sean Hannity on Jan. 22.

Issac was referring to Burisma executive Vadym Pozharskyi. His claim isn’t verified, but is verifiable for any prosecutor looking into what the elder Biden--or at least what the vice president’s staff at the time might have known—about Hunter’s foreign capers.

During the Obama years, Hunter co-founded Rosemont Capital, which reportedly formed a partnership Chinese private-equity fund Bohai Capital, or BHR. On Dec. 4, 2013 Hunter flew with his father on Air Force Two to China, and arranged a meeting with BHR chief Jonathan Li and his father. After this, Rosemont got a $1 billion private equity deal with a subsidiary of the Bank of China.

“Abuse of Power” delves into these deals and others. A federal investigation has been going since 2018, but so far as we know, Hunter Biden was involved in entirely legal ventures. Just as we don’t know Biden’s motives in demanding the firing of the Ukraine prosecutor. So, the Weiss probe should play out. Trump appointed Weiss, who took office in February 2018 to serve a four-year term. So, he’s in for at least another year. Weiss had the endorsement of Delaware’s Democratic senators Tom Carper and Chris Coons.

“David is a career prosecutor and dedicated public servant, longtime Delawarean, and valued member of our law enforcement community,” Coons said when Trump nominated Weiss.

Weiss has been an apolitical career federal prosecutor, working as assistant U.S. attorney from 1986 to 1989. He went into private practice in 1989, but returned in 2007 as the first assistant to the U.S. attorney – the top career prosecutor job in the Delaware office. Trump nominated him to be U.S. attorney for the district of Delaware in 2017.

While a special counsel would have been a bigger problem, the record for Weiss indicates he will pursue any investigation without fear or favor. And Biden would have a lot of explaining to do if he did fire the U.S. attorney in the near future.

The investigation by the US attorney who Biden DID NOT FIRE could potentially expand in many directions;
Hunter Biden’s web of business deals span the globe, as detailed in Fred Lukas' book, “Abuse of Power.”
The Hunter probe could turn into a severe headache for Joe Biden, his family, and the entire administration.

NOTE: Joe Biden's defense of his "surviving son's" overseas business deals conflicts with public evidence.

SENATE REPORT---VIII.
HUNTER BIDEN HAD S/S WHILE EMPLOYED BY BURISMA EARNING $80,000 PER MONTH (working from home).

The Secret Service did not indicate, as was requested, whether Hunter’s travel was on Air Force One, Air Force Two
or other govt aircraft. Still unanswered is whether unelected Biden family members doing deals, and VP Biden's tax-paid
govt staff to assist Hunter and the Biden family, were onboard.

Official S/S govt records list countries and territories visited by Hunter (and others?),
holding NO diplomatic portfolios, between June 2009 and May 2014, included
:
Ethiopia and India on June 14-22, 2009
Argentina on September 14-17, 2009
France and Spain on November 9-13, 2009
Canada on February 12-15, 2010
Dominican Republic on February 18-22, 2010
Puerto Rico on March 20-27, 2010
China on April 6-9, 2010
Belgium, Spain, and the United Kingdom on May 5-8, 2010
UK, Egypt, Kenya, So/Africa, Ascension Island, U.S.
Virgin Islands June 6-13, 2010
Denmark and South Africa on August 9-24, 2010
Hong Kong, Taiwan and China on April 16-22, 2011
Mexico on May 15-17, 2011
Colombia, France, UAR and France again Nov 1-11, 2011
UK and Russia on February 15-18, 2012
Germany, France and UK on February 1-5, 2013
UK and Ireland on March 20-22, 2013
China on June 13-15, 2013
Switzerland and Italy on July 26-August 7, 2013
Japan, China, South Korea, the Philippines Dec 2-9, 2013
China and Qatar on May 7-14, 2014

The S/S records were also provided, but were not made public, to Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley and Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Ron Johnson in a response to a request the senators sent to Secret Service Director James Murray on Feb 2020.

In its cover letter to Grassley and Johnson, which was included in the records we received, the Secret Service said that the senators’ request was time and labor intensive, and they could only provide a limited amount of information by the senators’ imposed turnaround time of February 19.

Given the Burisma-Ukraine-China influence peddling scandals, Hunter Biden’s extensive international travel during the Obama-Biden presidency, including at least 5 trips to China, will certainly raise additional questions.

========================================

CHINA REFERENCE According to reports, then-VP Joe Biden and Hunter Biden flew on Air Force Two for the official trip to Beijing in Dec 2013. The public records show Hunter Biden arrived in Tokyo on December 2, 2013, and departed for Beijing two days later. While it is typical for the families of the president and vice president to travel with them, questions have been raised about whether Hunter Biden used the tax-paid government trip to further his business interests.

NBC reporter Josh Lederman, who was one of four reporters on the December 2013 trip, noted in an October 2, 2019, report that, “What wasn’t known then was that as he accompanied his father to China, Hunter Biden was forming a Chinese private equity fund that associates said at the time was planning to raise big money, including from China.”

Hunter's global travel is only one of J/W's inquiries. During the last year and a half of the Obama administration, Hunter Biden served on the board of Ukrainian energy firm Burisma Holdings while VP Biden was Obama's point man for exerting US policy on Ukraine.

J/W is seeking records through six lawsuits and dozens of FOIA requests related to Hunter Biden’s dealings with the Ukrainian Burisma Holdings and the Chinese BHR Partners.

CIRCA 2020---Biden Corruption Runs Through Ukraine, Russia, and China
Townhall.com ^ | September 29, 2020 | Robert Knight / FR Posted by Kaslin

You know something’s up when the media bury a story that would have been a no-brainer for Page One if the subject was a Republican.

A new Senate exposes (circa 2020) shocking corruption involving Hunter Biden, who made millions in Ukraine at the natural gas company, Burisma Holdings, when his father, Vice President Joe Biden, was President Obama’s Ukraine point man. We’ve long known some of this, but the sheer scope of the influence peddling and sums involved are stunning. The 87-page document also exposes Hunter’s Russian connections, including a $3.5 million payment from the wife of a former Moscow mayor embroiled in scandal. related to:
<><>Hunter Biden’s dealings with the corrupt Ukrainian Burisma Holdings ......... ......
<><> Hunter’s money-making stake in China’s BHR Partners.

CIRCA 2020---Hunter Biden's deals 'served' China and its military, new documentary claims
Fox News ^ | September 04 2020 | Bruce Golding | New York Post / FR Posted by knighthawk

Hunter Biden’s business dealings in China served the “strategic interests” of the country’s communist government and military — and may have imperiled American national security, claims a new documentary exclusively previewed by The Post.

“Riding the Dragon: The Bidens’ Chinese Secrets” highlights several deals that Hunter Biden was involved in as a board member of the Beijing-based BHR Partners investment firm. The film also alleges that Hunter was only able to get meetings with Chinese officials — and secure $1 billion in funding — “because of who his father was: vice president of the United States” and then-President Barack Obama’s “point person on US policy towards China.” (Excerpt) Read more at foxnews.com …

Hunter Biden's Ukraine employer landed lucrative deal with USAID; newly released State Department memos show.
Deal involved renewable energy program championed by his Dad's key VP advisers

The official Memorandum of Understanding between Burisma and the US Dept pf State's " USAID Municipal Energy Reform Project in Ukraine (MERP)" was signed in October 2014, according to a copy of the agreement obtained by Just the News under the Freedom of Information Act.

At the time the Bog Money deal was okayed, Burisma was under very public investigations by both the British government and the Ukrainian prosecutor general's office and considered by the State Department to suffer from corruption issues.

Because Joe Biden knows that Weiss’s mandate is to whitewash Hunter Biden’s crimes. Same as Durham’s role is to whitewash the crimes of the FBI and DOJ. They will do an “investigation” and conclude “no reasonable prosecutor” could obtain a conviction. More kabuki theatre.

Hunter was a veritable United Nations of Corruption. Although he was conducting personal profit-making business, he was assigned a tax-paid SS detail.
That means Hunter had VERY HIGH approval for his globe hopping---411 Flights to 29 Countries, Including 5 Visits to China.
/u>

The Senate Report's section on China details a web of lucrative ties between Hunter Biden’s firms and companies controlled by the Chinese Communist Party. It also documents many trips he took to China with Secret Service protection and to dozens of other countries. The deals involve millions of dollars and at least one contract involving China’s acquisition of an American firm that makes sensitive military technology. Oh, almost forgot. There’s this, which apparently is not particularly newsworthy: “Hunter Biden paid nonresident women who were nationals of Russia or other Eastern European countries and who appear to be linked to an ‘Eastern European prostitution or human trafficking ring.’” Nothing to see here, folks.

In a Democrat rebuttal, Sens. Gary Peters of Michigan and Ron Wyden of Oregon ignore the wealth of documentation and charge that the report is “based on conspiracy theories with roots in Russian disinformation.” Even before its release, the Democrats in July attacked the report as solely partisan. Republican Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, and Charles Grassley of Iowa, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, say that if the Democrats are going to point a finger, it should be at a mirror.

“The Democrats’ July 14 letter relied on foreign disinformation to create a false and harmful innuendo about the Chairmen’s oversight work. … Many of the allegations Democrats have made against Republicans ... reflect the very patterns of behavior that Democrats themselves have engaged in.”

You know, like the fake Russian “collusion” charge while the Dems themselves paid for the phony Steele dossier full of Russian disinformation that led to the FBI spying on the Trump campaign.

In January and February 2017, the FBI was told that much of the dossier came from Russian sources, and yet the “collusion” narrative lost steam only after the Mueller Report’s release in April 2019.

Democrats then ginned up hysteria over the phone call Mr. Trump made to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. They impeached Mr. Trump while ignoring the massive Biden/Ukraine corruption.

It’s clear the Senate report terrifies them. The Washington Post, for instance, wrote very little, buried it inside and focused on Democrat talking points, not the findings.

The document unveils a 10-year record of corruption with possibly actionable criminality and a coverup at the highest levels. It’s stunning. Here are just a few findings:

<><> Hunter Biden and his business partner Devon Archer joined the board of Burisma Holdings in 2014.
<><> Hunter was paid $50,000 a month, though he had no expertise in the field.
<><> He and his partner Archer eventually made millions,
<><>The two met with VP Biden "just before" Mr. Biden went to Ukraine on a diplomatic mission.
<><> Hunter was on Burisma’s board when owner Mykola Zlochevsky allegedly bribed $7M to “shut” a corruption case against him.
<><> In 2016, Ukraine prosecutor Victor Shokin had another active investigation into Burisma and Mr. Zlochevsky.
<><> news reports show then-VP Biden ‘threatened to withhold $1 billion in loan guarantees if Shokin was not dismissed.
<><> After Biden's shakedown, Ukraine’s Parliament fired Shokin.”

Indeed, in a video that every American deserves to see, Mr. Biden boasts at a Council on Foreign Relations gathering in 2018 that as vice president, he shook down Ukraine’s leaders: “I said, you’re not getting the billion…I looked at them and said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money. Well, son of a b-tch. (Laughter.) He got fired.” In China, “Hunter Biden had business associations with Ye Jianming, Gongwen Dong and other Chinese nationals linked to the Communist government and the People’s Liberation Army. Those associations resulted in millions of dollars in cash flow.”

Hunter opened a bank account with Gongwen Dong to “fund a $100,000 spending spree” with his uncle and aunt, James and Sara Biden, who also received $1.4 million from Hunter’s firm.

Henniges, an American maker of anti-vibration technologies with military applications, was turned over in 2015 to two Chinese companies with ties to the Communist government. One of the companies was a billion-dollar investment fund, Bohai Harvest (BHR), which was formed in 2013 by a merger of Bohai Capital and Rosemont Seneca Partners.

The latter firm was founded in 2009 by investors including Hunter Biden and Chris Heinz, stepson of then-Secretary of State John Kerry. The conflicts of interest are so glaring they don’t require unpacking.

During the Obama Admin, Hunter met privately in the White Hut with Antony Blinken at least 7 times. Blinken somehow is now the Sec’y of Puppet State and has never been asked by the MSM about his association and meetings with Hunter.

Only 22 GOP Senators opposed the nomination of this Hunter Biden co-conspirator. Gives you a clear picture of the rot within the Republican Party.

Just like Bill Low-barr, the over rated AG that fooled most of us here at FR.

I actually got tired of reading about all of the prison sentences that were handed down due to the crooked acts performed by the doj and fbi for the past several years...Oh wait...
