Trump hired his legal team for the impeachment just a few days before the proceedings started, which may have accounted for their singularly lackluster opening argument. However, by Friday, they’d gotten their ducks in a row and David Schoen, especially, had a great closing argument.
He opened by pointing out that Democrats improperly sat on footage of events in the Capitol to blindside Trump’s defense team and deny him due process. From there, he moved to the fact that the Democrat House impeachment managers outright lied about their alleged evidence, whether it was faked tweets or manipulated video. As part of this lambasting the Democrats for dishonesty, Schoen played for them Trump’s entire statement about events in Charlottesville, which the Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) twisted into the disgraceful, defamatory “fine people” hoax.
Schoen demonstrated that Democrats have lusted after impeachment since Trump’s inauguration. The next thing he showed is that Democrats actively promoted violence in the street and have frequently and openly expressed their desire to commit actual violence against Trump, his supporters, and America itself. Moreover, to the extent Trump used the word “fight,” he did so in a purely political sense, which is something that Democrats have done repeatedly over the years:

What was really funny was the defense that Stacey Plaskett, one of the House impeachment managers raised to the part of the montage in which Democrats repeatedly stated that they would fight Trump and demanded that their supporters do so as well. According to her, the whole montage was…wait for it…racist and sexist:

I watched every minute of the defense team’s presentation...and it was as gratifying and satisfying as a yuuge steak dinner from Peter Luger’s.

Yep, I think Trump’s legal team Sun Tzu’ed their arses. I couldn’t believe how ‘bad’ the first guy was...but it was a set up. No wonder PDJT eventually found this team. I’m quite pleased at how this turned out. Now let us see how the RINOs vote so we can start to primary them.

I do think PDJT’s legal team had a plan on how to present their side...and I think it was very effective. Now, go drink some warm milk and have a nap.
Way back when, Biden had recommended a “show trial” (his actual words) for George W Bush after he had left office. Show trial was the term used to describe the Stalinist era trials of political figures. The results of a show trial were known to all in advance. The purpose was to show off the power of the state to do anything to anybody. The message was, if you buck the state, this will happen to you.
If you look at, say, the men who ran the NKVD, they would persecute the stew out of the former head of that agency, then, the next guy would react in shock when he was having his thumbs broken. The meaning is, a communist society eventually destroys everybody. No one is safe.
Anyone who sides with the communists is asking the Devil to dance with them. We all know who gets to lead. While life may be wonderful while the dance lasts, it will last for the rest of your life. (A very much shorter life than if you’d, say, taken up farming in some remote village.)

His nether regions must be painful 24/7 having to straddle that fence of wanting to be the RAT that he is, and still try to please his Trump-loving and -voting constituents. One of these days he’s going to actually make a decision.
If this “trial” were being done in China the outcome would not be in doubt. So why does anyone here think it will be any different in present day Washington? They stole America. They own it. This will end the way they command it will. There are no two sides here there is only one:THEIRS.
