Russia says it would be ready to cut EU ties if hit with painful sanctions

Russia said on Friday it would be ready to sever ties with the European Union if the bloc hit it with painful economic sanctions, a statement that Germany described as disconcerting and incomprehensible.

Ties between Russia and the West, already at post-Cold War lows, have come under renewed pressure over the arrest and jailing of Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny.

Biden and the RU are going after the dictator who does them the least amount of harm and whose dictatorship will likely end with him.

Most of Europe and Eastern Europe's positive Economic Potential depend on Russian natural gas and oil.

One of Trump's policies to limit Russian influence was to make the USA oil independent and build infrastructure to export oil and natural gas to Europe in backup to Israel and Abraham Accords producers.

Naa, look for Russia to have ‘production problems’ with natural gas, should the sanctions go through. Russia holds the cards, and Europe knows just that.

35 percent of German natural gas is Russian. If Nord Stream had wrapped up, might go up to 45 percent.

Those spigots are mighty easy to turn off. And there’s a massive customer just to the East that would be happy to use all that extra gas.

To be fair, Navalny is most likely actually a foreign asset (either for MI6 or CIA).

All questions about Putin aside, Navalny will never, ever get my vote.

Yes they do, but fortunately it can still be imported from the US by ship. We have plenty of natural gas because of the fracking industry. Oh wait, scrap that idea, we did have plenty of natural gas until January 20th.

LOL, you attack someone, and if they respond in kind, that’s incomprehensible and disconcerting?

And they wonder where the term “blockheads” came from.

The Communist Russian FSB/KBG salutes you.
Russian communism now runs the entire world not by Democrats and leftists but by the American right as the blindness blinds many of Putin’s grand mass depiction FOR NWO.
Took ‘em forty years but they now control everything and will soon have their revenge for President Ronald Reagan who wasthe very last greatest President of these United states.

It’s kind of a nice trick when the Russians don’t even have Communism in their own country anymore. Private property rights are very strong. The tax climate is very favorable to small business. Sole proprietorships pay no tax for the first one or two years (I forget) and then the standard 13% flat tax thereafter (same as normal personal income). Banking system is strong, including the rights to hold precious metals in gram-denominated accounts. Yes, there is government medicine, but plenty of private options if you desire. Very little resemblance to Communism.
