Actress Gina Carano was fired from the cast of the popular Disney Plus-Star Wars spinoff series The Mandalorian on Wednesday after sharing a social media post that likened people in society today to Nazi supporters during the Holocaust.
Carano’s social media post in question went as follows:
Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors… even by children.

There was once a radio host in New York city, Bob Grant, who had the most popular show in his time slot and made a ton of money for his employers. Then he got abruptly fired. They asked Howard Stern why anyone would fire such a moneymaker and Stern said that WABC was owned by Disney, which made a lot of money in a lot of different ways, and they just didn’t need the aggravation as much as they needed the money. They could make it up somewhere else so they dumped him.
It’s basically the same thing 25 years later. Disney has a core audience that is very vocal and very liberal. They don’t need the aggravation and Gina can be replaced. Bad timing on her part.

Bob Grant nailed it decades ago. Didn’t start listening to him until the 80s.
Disney still owns the ABC properties.
Disney is a malicious operation, and deserves some serious financial hurt.
I remember that. A week later Bob Grant ended up on WOR, which wasn’t quite as powerful a station as WABC, but he became one of the first talk show hosts to have his program streaming on the internet, even before el Rushbo.

Grant had a few regular callers that were fun. I remember a gentle, older Black guy that questioned Grant more often than not — a Democrat no doubt. But Grant liked the guy, and the dialogs were good. Then there was “John from Staten Island”. God bless him. In hindsight, he was prophetic!

The US is now one big safe space
Evangelicals are a large and important voting block. They boycotted Disney for decades and during that time Disney revenues and park attendance went nowhere but up. Cancelling one character won’t even cause a blip. Heck, they just decided some of the most famous family films in history aren’t woke enough for viewing anymore and they still make money like they have their own printing press, and I’m not talking Disney dollars.

Bob Grant was always on in my house when I was growing up. His abruptness with callers was the stuff of legends: “Get off my phone!”

When he got fired for his comments about Ron Brown, he was replaced by some dude named Sean Hannity, who wasn't worthy enough to shine Bob Grant's shoes.

So did George Putnam, who hosted a talk show in Los Angeles. His liberal-left regulars included Leftie Louie, The Documentation Person, aka Doc, and Moscow Mary, who kept listeners up to date on the party line out of Moscow. Most of these also appeared regularly on Ray Briem's graveyard-shift talk show.
When people disagree, the first to accuse the other of being a Nazi has already lost the argument.
