House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said Thursday on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” that the Republican Party has become a Donald Trump cult lacking principles and ideology.

Wow - that’s rich coming from a party that has no principles except communism and destruction of the Constitution.
I used to think the old practice of dueling for honor was petty and stupid. But in a previous era, Rep. Schiff would be on the field at dawn facing a true conservative with pistols, and may God forgive me, I wish it could be so, duplicated a few thousand times across our land.
I don’t think it has.
The GOP had become a hollowed out shell of its former self, so ruthlessly pragmatic and so in hock to lobbyists that it could no longer abide by any of its guiding principles.
Pre Trump, Republican was just a brand alternative to Democrat. Pepsi versus Coca Cola.
I think they brought Trump in to fix that brand, but as a PR gimmick. They wanted a slice of the Tea Party soul, unity of purpose and joie de vivre, but not its ‘lunatic fringe’ dark side - narcissists, conspiracy theorists, misogynists, perverts and white supremacists.
The reason Trump’s impeachment got signed off is because Trump didn’t just refresh the brand, he WAS the brand, and he - to them - is the entire Tea Party lunatic fringe personified. Once he went full tilt against Pence, that confirmed it.
Nobody at a MAGA march says “I’m here for the GOP’. They say “I’m with Trump’ or “MAGA”.
And, RINO now means, a senior member of the Republican party who is not a convert to Trumpism and is much more comfortable with Business As Usual.
If you’re not with Trump, Trump supporters call you the enemy. If you say it in an open forum, as a Party member, people who have only been in the GOP for five minutes feel it’s their right to call you a RINO. That is how all personality cults start.
We had this a few years back with Jeremy Corbyn. It wasn’t HIM demonizing and taking over the Labour party - Corbyn’s far too lazy a hippie to be that guy , it was his marxist supporters who were throwing normal folks out.
Trump didn’t set out to be a personality cult leader, but he is the figurehead of Trumpism. And hiding in the ranks of MAGA, you’ve got all kinds of agitators.
How do you think Antifa were so in bed with the Trump crowd in January? All they had to do was wear the hat and they were in.

The Trump cult is a subset of the antidem cult.
When the opposing party wins, and they will, they must make cancel culture look like gnats on cattle. Replace every individual in the bureaucracy which is in opposition. Actually eliminate all governmental entities not part of the constitution. Purge the intelligence community. If they remove the filibuster make them rue the day. If they add states we add states. if they add to the supreme, we add to the supreme. Any precedent they take advantage of we exploit as well. No compromise. Let them suffer the short comings of their limited vision and when the media decries our efforts let them pound sand.
