Christians are CERTAINLY NOT specifically enjoined from predicting the end times.

They are enjoined from predicting the day and the hour of Christ coming as a thief to catch up the church and take them to heaven.

Your incredibly overbroad reading of Matthew 24:36 leads to error. I & II Thessalonians are all about knowing and understanding what is coming. So is Daniel, Matthew 24, Revelation, and a whole host of other scripture.

You need to take your head out of the sand.
