I’ll tell you what they are thinking about doing; writing a strongly worded letter to Cassidy, that’s what. There is no salvation for the Republican Party. Trump needs a new Party.

What part of my post was incorrect? Show me the language in the Constitution that limits impeachment to a sitting official. Bet you can’t do it since it doesn’t exist.

I thought we were conservatives here. Conservatives don’t insist that everybody hold the party line opinion without dissent - that’s what liberals do. We conservatives don’t base our opinions on what’s popular or expedient (again, that’s what liberals do), but rather on eternal and fundamental principles.

I don’t expect you to agree with me, but at least address my argument. I have presented a cogent and logical argument for the position that this impeachment was legal; not that it was well-advised or had any merit, but simply that the House had the power to do it. If that argument is so easily refuted that it’s not worthy of discussion then please do so. Maybe I’m dense, but I don’t see any such easy refutation.

Please don’t respond with “Trump didn’t do anything to deserve impeachment” or the like. I know that, and I’m not arguing otherwise. Tell me why the House lacked the power to impeach.
