Because you’d literally have employers paying 50 cents an hour. Which ones you ask? The employees paying the minimum wage.
Maybe some jobs are only worth $0.50/hour in some areas. One thing is for sure, though: every time the government sets a minimum wage, jobs will be lost as the job market is distorted. This is a universal constant.

Probably so. But I have heard how the country will die if the minimum wage raises. I remember the minimum wage at 3.35 in 1987. Raised it to 7.50 in 2007. And we’re still here. I’m not a fan but it’s not a nuclear bomb or anything. First it won’t raise until 2026. By them it will be worth 7.50. Lol.

Correct. A $15.00 minimum wage makes the labor of someone who can do $14.99 per hour worth of work or less literally illegal to be employed.

The better idea is saying no to $15, not being biased against single people.
That would be just wonderful for men whose wives left them and are paying alimony.
Also, many single live alone, so not only is their income one instead of two, but they make less. Great idea.
