“Can’t seize guns that are lost to a boating accident a few years ago.”
As long as you reported it at the time, you’re fine. If not, then you’re giving the police false information, which is a felony.

We FReepers being the passionate former gun owners and horrible boaters that we all seem to be, there must be many bodies of water here in the domestic US that need to be declared Iron Bottom Sounds.
Correct and if they actually were you no longer have them them, if not and they bust down your door and find them they now have your guns you told them they were lost so your screwed because you lied to the man......
Botom line.........
This boating thing is very stale.
Remunds me of a conversation my son had just last week! I almost laughed out loud.
One of my son’s customers came to the counter with a gun magazine.
“Good choice,” my son mentioned casually.
“You shoot?” the customer asked.
“Yes, Sir,” my son replied.
“Do you carry?”
“Not anymore,” my son answered. “Lost all my guns in a tragic boating accident.”
The customer blinked in surprise, gave a little smile, and nodded. “A shame.”
Instant brotherhood.
