There has been discussions about why Union bosses like Democrats. This legislation will kill jobs, industries and economy, but help enrich union bosses. No wander they like Democrats! The rank and file is split, those who see through it are Trump supporters, but some are just bamboozled to follow their bosses.

I used to be in the IBEW. The extra benefits and pay of being in the union more than offset the dues. There are, of course, pros and cons to being in a union.

Given all the information coming out from the Time Magazine article, I will have absoultely no sympathy for the Chamber of Commerce nor the National Association of Manufactuers.

I wonder if they will regret their decision to support Biden in the next few weeks, months or years. If they do, they should clean house and replace all their top officials.

Wouldn’t forcing unionization be against the 1st amendment, the right to free assembly?

I have worked in two unionized factories. In the one with compulsory unionization the union run the shop. Nothing could be done. The management was there just to take blame for going under. Obviously, we went under! All jobs lost!
Went abroad.
In the same state young people working in union grocery were actually working for subminimum wage - minimum wage minus substantial union dues! No way out of it! That’s crooked!
In the one state with voluntary unionization, the union was actually quite responsible. They actually cared about the jobs and factory. They cared about safety, security, etc. Rules could be bent if it made sense. They wanted to earn their membership dues. They are still in business.

I actually like the idea of workers having some say in the company. But the forced union is a recipe for disaster, the way to send all the remining jobs to China. Of course that’s what the oligarchs want anyway.

I only worked 2 union jobs in my life.

1st year high school teacher in Illinois. Budget cuts. Position axed. Union did nothing except kill my job. Quit high school teaching to work at the college level, where there are no unions.

2nd time, forced to work at a grocery store (Kroger/ QFC) after Microsoft replaced my development team with filthy dirty H1B Indians in early 2019.

Union dues were going to take a certain percentage of wages. I refused to join. I didn’t agree that part of my pay was going to support Democrat candidates in the King County, Seattle area.

Yes, but it will not, if it becomes mandate in the whole US!

That’s the liberal thinking - since it is not working locally, we need to make it global mandate, that will solve all its problems.
Like high state taxes, minimum wages, extensive welfare and this boondoggle.
