because it has been shown to illicit a stronger immune response. that's what they say anyways. I guess the better questions are, is it enough to cause problems and did they use aluminum as an adjuvant for our grandparent's vaccines too? the answers? I don't know but I doubt it and I'm pretty sure they have been using aluminum in vaccines since the 1930s.

Aluminum salts were initially used in the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s with diphtheria and tetanus vaccines after it was found they strengthened the body’s immune response to these vaccines.

The tolerable weekly intake of aluminum is 1mg aluminum/kg of body weight in a 60 kg individual. estimated daily oral aluminum intake is 1.6-13mg. a one off vaccine dose delivers 0.1-1.1 mg of aluminum.
