True. However, from one star & up it’s been political vetting for many decades now
to determine who gets their first star - not on merit. Lots of Colonels who would not toe the line with the MIC or some politicians desires retired as Colonels. Shame.
Col. John Boyd (deceased) is a classic example.

I was a kid when I was in...discharged (honorably) in '75. I was completely apolitical then. And I don't recall any of my buddies...we were all about the same age...being political either.

I guess the top brass...the ones hoping to get one or more stars from Plugs or Heels Up...are gonna be looking at emails,twitter,FR,etc for signs of respect for President Trump.
