Once again they GOP circles its wagons to protect a fellow RINO. It seems this behavior will never end.

Get rid of her. By any means necessary. If that means voting for the Democrat in the general election so be it. Cheney colludes with Democrats to fight conservatives. What’s good for the goose...

According to early reports, the vote overwhelmingly favored Cheney — 145-61.

The vote was held in SECRET.

They didn't have the guts to vote the way that all other votes are held.

If I find out that my congresscritter, Guy Reschenthaler voter to retain lez, I'll let him know why I will donate to his demonRAT opponent.

This reminds me of Dem leader Joe Crowley, the third ranking Dem House leader who was in line to succeed Pelosi, getting clobbered by AOC in the Dem primaries in 2018, despite the entire Dem leadership being solidly behind Joe Crowley.
What are the GOP house leadership going to do when Liz Cheney gets slaughtered by her primary challenger in 2022?
Oh wait, she will join the Lincoln Project and become a child abuser or fraudster like all Lincoln Project members are while collecting free money from Dem Billionaires.

A reply just published on another thread:

McCarthy tried to straddle two stools and not surprisingly fell between.

The fight over Marjorie Taylor Greene should be seen as a metaphor of the fight between the Republican donor class and the Republican base. McCarthy's backing of Liz Cheney offends the base but he did so because Liz Cheney scoops up huge sums from the donor class generating power for her in the House of Representatives, much as Mitch McConnell rules the Senate Republicans by the same means.

Always follow the money.

So McCarthy backs Cheney and the source of funds from the donor class. Of course, the interest of the donor class are inimical to the interests of the base as it was created by Donald Trump, a middle-class, working constituency of the middle West. The donor class wants to import cheap labor and export industrial capacity.

The donor class wants the elections to be determined on the basis of race (Nathan Bedford's decade-long maxim that all politics in America is not local but ultimately racial) but governing be done to protect their globalist class interests.

But little old Marjorie Taylor Greene has no donor class backing, indeed she has nothing going for her except a message that resonates with the base as it resonated in her district to the tune of 75% of the voters. McCarthy's strategy was to finesse the situation as the Rino Republicans have always done: make noise on behalf of the base, pretend to negotiate on Greene's behalf but actually operate on behalf of the donor class. So McCarthy tried to cut a deal, shave a committee assignment from Marjorie Taylor Greene, badmouth her moderately, and thus tacitly assure the donor class that representative Greene would be nothing but a well muzzled backbencher while the soul of the Republican Party remained unbesmirched.

The Democrats frustrated the scheme by refusing to compromise, so McCarthy is left with the worst of both possible worlds, his colleague in the party stripped of assignment, rebuked, and himself with an alienated base and no upside anywhere to show the establishment. He is revealed to be a toady of the donor class by his support of Lynn Cheney while exposing his own weakness in protecting his own.

A classic lesson of the folly of trying to be all things to all people.

It's too bad this happened, mostly because party leaders should be supportive of all fellow party members, not against them. I was hoping she'd get dumped, and was downheartened that she wasn't.

However, this is early February, a scant four months after the elections, and the dust hasn't settled yet.

It's obvious there's going to be significant transformation of both political parties, and best to just sit back, relax, get mellow, and watch for a while longer, letting things happen naturally.

Liz Cheney along with all the other anti-Trump Republicans, is now serving her last term in office anyway.

Primary all 145. When you can’t tell the difference between a Republican and a Democrat it’s time to look elsewhere.

Well, there you have it folks. Liz Cheney acted under orders from the syndicate bosses and they kept her in place. It's their party and they can do with it what they want. They can try to sell lies that they want your input and not just your time, votes, and money but only fools would believe that.

I'm not surprised they voted in secret and you can be damn sure they're all going to campaign (and solicit donations) as though they support President Trump.

That the congress has no clothes is bad enough, that they don't care everyone knows it is far worse.

I hate to be even more negative here, but if the people in our party (or what should be our party) cannot vote out a beech with 13% approval in her home state, it’s really, really, hard to see how they can even come close to stepping up to what’s needing to prevent this country from becoming Third World within 10 years.

...and, sadly, it’s no different regarding virtually all of the Republicans in Texas, Cruz included (of course).

Why? What’s the point? Honestly......why keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result? Why? Why do people keep saying, “Let’s primary them next time....”?? As if the next person won’t be swallowed by swamp just like everyone else within the Republican (UNI)Party....insanity!!!

Let’s just break down and accept the facts. As a conservative, you have no real representation in Congress right now. None. You have a choice between full-throttle Socialism and somewhat restricted Socialism, but that’s about it.

LIZ Cheney makes me sick. So many disgusting things going on . The FBI came to my friend’s house. She organized 7 busses that went to DC on Jan. 6.

This helps me answer the question of who is going to stay under the Republican label, and who is going to leave to form a new party. Packing my stuff up now; there—finished, and ready to go!

They will just put up several no name candidates in the primary to split the anti Cheney vote and put a ton of money in her campaign for media buys to blanket the state with her name, conservatism, and down home values. This is how they keep their seats despite the base voters. No the real solution is not to play the game. Leave the Republican party where your not welcome anyway and start a new party. To those who say stay in the Republican party and try to reform it ,well we’ve tried and the GOPe games the system to stay in power every time. Can anyone say Senator Murkowski? We need to move on because they work against the base voter expect for Jim Jordan, Rand Paul and a few others. Take it from an Ohio Republican voter, Republicans like to tell you their on your side and take your money and votes then conspire with the Democrats to enact the very polices that your opposed to because that’s what the donor money wants. Look at the Republicans and the way they have acted in the last 5 years and ask yourself “ What have they done if anything to show that their on my side?”
