The Antarctica trip was cover for his trip to New Zealand to get their cooperation in a vote at the UN condemning Israel that December, part of the divestment movement against Israel over settlements. [His trip to Iceland to get the meaningless award may have been cover for something too, and not merely the ego trip it is meant to appear.] Anyway, while he was talking to NZ officials about getting their vote for the move in the UN, his buddy Brennan was in Washington meeting with Palestinian officials including a terrorist or two on the same topic.
