"A standing military force, with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty. The means of defense against foreign danger, have been always the instruments of tyranny at home. Among the Romans it was a standing maxim to excite a war, whenever a revolt was apprehended. Throughout all Europe, the armies kept up under the pretext of defending, have enslaved the people."

James Madison, 1787- address to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia on the dangers of a permanent army.

What about private security?

I’ve seen reports of at least one private firm, out of HI IIRC, working in DC for someone, presumably Deep State.

Who hired them? Are they still there? Who paid/is paying for them?

Are there any others?

FWIW, I’m even more concerned about the private hires.

That's been posted here many times, but since Pence had no authority to do that AND he apparently thinks he has a political future - I doubt it.

Why Is the National Guard Still In Washington?

Because AOC is afraid of those scary conservatives...

There are events, but the Army doesn’t know what they are?!?

The NG in DC are federalized. General William Walker is in charge, at least at the on-site level.

The military is very compartmentalized. Walker takes orders; he knows what he has to do at the local level. He may know for what events, but he may not be saying so publicly, as he is trained to do.

‘Peaceful transition of military power.

Every single agency in the DC area has contractors...but if you stipulated security-related people, I would doubt that it goes more than 4,000 in the area.

These are mostly door-guards, to restrict entry into buildings or work-areas. The agencies go this way because it’s cheaper to contract out than to recruit GS-7/GS-8 type government personnel.

These rumors to suggest some large private security element...just aren’t true. You just have literally hundreds of small contracts. An example....Union Station on the NE part of DC....has private security. No one will vouch that they are capable of doing much, but they walk around and present themselves. Various museums in town have private security people hired. Most of the foreign embassies in town have some kind of contracted security to handle the outer parts of the embassy.

We don’t know whats true and what’s not at the moment.

We’d need Congressional hearings to get to the bottom of this.

But we won’t get them.

FWIW, I think that continuing NG presence might be a cover for other security.

The kind Congress doesn’t want to admit to.

They’re there until new security systems are put in place. There’s also there as the Dem’s dirty character naturally makes them paranoid.

“and a possible Patriot response.”

Our name should be the Pissed-Off Patriots.
They stole our votes while we watched them do it.
Why shouldn’t we be angry? Why shouldn’t we want the problem fixed?

Yeah, if that’s not a weird thing, I don’t know what is.

Why? It’s the Democrat plan to tell Americans Trump supporters and voters are crazed lunatics who threaten democracy. They can’t argue and win their socialistic plan so they instill fear. Sorry, we all see through it.
