Bingo! That’s been my opinion for a long time. The more seniority your Congress critter has, the more clout they have and that translates to cash for your district. It’s a system that encourages incumbency. What incentive do Pelosi’s constituents have to replace her, for example?
Representatives represent their district, not themselves. That’s like saying one district has more power and importance than another and it shouldn’t be that way.
