One of the most positive developments from last year's political strife was a stronger focus on police abuses and no-knock raids. Some states and cities have imposed new restrictions, others are working toward greater transparency when it comes to police shootings. Unfortunately, Maryland, a state that has wrestled with some of the most egregious SWAT and no-knock cases in the country, remains mired in controversy.
The state has a long record of SWAT debacles. After police wrongfully raided a mayor’s house and killed his dogs in 2008, Maryland required police to report every SWAT raid. Between 2010 and 2014, police in Maryland conducted more than 8,000 raids, killing nine people and injuring almost a hundred civilians.
Despite controversies, statistics were no longer collected after 2014. Strong police unions have blocked numerous efforts at legislative reform. As a result, Marylanders continue to be vexed by the same kind of deadly no-knock debacles that killed Breonna Taylor last March in Louisville, Kentucky.
Duncan Lemp is one of Maryland's latest victims.

how about “well you want the police to go home to their families at night”? Not if they murdered the guy with obvious premeditation. I’d rather see them and their bosses go to the morgue.
Does anyone still think the police/milice/stasi in this country are “on our side” - whatever that means - or any different than the JBTs in any other dictatorship.
Btw my post above (that I am glad people are realizing it) is because there were always FReepers trying to explain it away, especially when it was a ‘BLM’ type shot. Thing is, the same rationale and tactics used against one group is the same exact rationale and tactics that will be used against you! The young man in this particular situation was straight up murdered! While there are many good police officers who are true officers of the law, there is a group that is questionable. And that group doesn’t care if someone is white, polka dotted and made of vantablack!
Just look at the video of the shooting of Daniel Shaver by Officer Philip Brailsford.
Daniel Shaver was on the floor, been given all sort of conflicting orders, and when he messed up he was shot. Daniel was white (the officer was white too), showing it’s not a white-black thing but rather something else.
That is all it now to get raided and killed. The Huston Police raided and killed the husband and wife just for the hell of it. They [the husband and wife] were dead before they knew what was happening. The Police were so gung ho that they shot four of their own people. But that is the type of people that the public want controlling them. So be it. One does not say mean things about the Police. One kisses their ass or gets killed. The peasants must learn their place. And stay in it.
I would take SWAT out of local police forces, and make it a state police function. Any local police wants a no knock SWAT raid, they would have to put in a request and show justification.
They kept this story buried. And to all of my fellow patriots who bury their guns in the backyard... Think we’ll ever find this man”s stash of hidden weapons?
They will come after you after you claim “boating accident.” Stop being stupid.
Elect a pro-2nd amendment, constitutional sheriff in your county. That sheriff has the legal and armed muscle to protect your families and your community. That sheriff is accountable to the people who elected him, not to some leftist mayor.
During my sheriff’s tenure, he’s removed two police chiefs from the county who overstepped constitutional restraints. He’s also investigated and removed five criminal, leftist bureaucrats from office, sending two to state prison.
I like Rand too, “most” of the time.
But, banning ALL no knocks is crazy as there are some really, really BAD guys out there that you have to GO IN and get. Khalid Sheik Mohammad comes to mind.
So, I support no knocks when there is an absolute compelling reason to conduct one.
For example, I would ban them unless there was a compelling reason involving the immediate safety of innocent citizens and that was signed off on by the police chief or sheriff and the mayor and the investigating officers.
What seems to have got cities in trouble in the past is allowing a low level street cop to make the decision to conduct a no knock.
This is absolutely horrifying. If this report is true, he was targeted basically for his opinions and slaughtered in front of his pregnant girlfriend at a time when any moron would know he would reach for a weapon to defend himself from a break-in into their bedroom window the dead of night. Sickening.
Had to look it up. LOL! Excellent phraseology, spetznaz!
:)
The police 'follow orders'. Doesn't matter what it is. That was the Nazis' defense when they were on trial. They're certainly acting the same way, doing the same things for the same reasons.
They've chosen their side, America should know where they stand.
True, and Nazis following orders to exterminate people were hanged anyway. The consequences to the SS for not following orders would have been execution. If the police don’t follow orders they get a reprimand or at worst fired. Hardly the same jeopardy, for not killing someone. I can only think that they got off on killing this guy.
I 100% support what you said here!
