Captain Sir Tom Moore has died with coronavirus.
The 100-year-old, who raised almost £33m for NHS charities by walking laps of his garden, was admitted to Bedford Hospital on Sunday.
The Queen led tributes to Capt Sir Tom, "recognising the inspiration he provided for the whole nation and others across the world".
His daughters said they "shared laughter and tears" with their father in their final few hours together.
Announcing his death, Hannah Ingram-Moore and Lucy Teixeira said the last year of their father's life had been "nothing short of remarkable".

Nice guy.
Rest in Peace.
“Hand Salute!”
“Two!”
Rest in Peace, Sir. You have earned that.
Another covid-19 casualty. May he rest in peace.
All I can say is give US a friggn break with all the 80, 90 and 100 year olds who have EXPECTANTLY died from covid!
for all that, the uk couldn’t and wouldn’t save this guy.
they weren’t going to sink any money into a 100-year old workhorse, and gave him crappy to nonexistent healthcare, the good old socialist nhs.
the uk doesn’t deserve men like him.
Old age does that with viruses, sadly.
RIP.
He lived a long life....especially under the UK health system.
Coming to a country near us.
Couldn’t let him die with dignity.
Instead they added an * to his name...
100 years old and he died of covid......really!!!!

He’d had pneumonia for some time. The article states thats why he didn’t receive the vaccine.
Wonder if he contracted WuFlu while in the hospital...
Looks like the NHS has a major WuFlu infection control problem in its hospitals...
RIP..
Burma campaign veteran.
Thank you for your service to King and Country.
