There has been a rather dramatic halt to reported vaccine deliveries. Something has changed in a big way, for these numbers.
If it is just a reporting change, we should see some major surges this week, to catch up to actuals.
There was some of that last week (two days of about 3 million each), but that did not fully catch up to the average pace of deliveries before the Inauguration.
This weekend, reported deliveries essentially stopped. I am getting worried about what is going on with the vaccine supply.
Only about 3,200 doses reported delivered yesterday, Nationwide.
Only about 400 the day before.
This is virtually a complete halt, from the 1-2 million per day before the Inauguration.
State government employees are probably bickering over which of the more equal animals will receive the next doses.
Mrs. R17 and I are in a high population county
just outside of Atlanta (Gwinnett),
and are “eligible” (over 65 years old),
but it has been impossible for us to find any.
I’m administering vaccines tomorrow in Ohio as we continue to roll out Phase 1B for susceptible populations. 80+ year olds were 2 weeks ago, 75 and up was last week, now we’re vaccinating 70 years and up. 65 and up next week. I would imagine we’ll get busier as the people get younger.

Here in Indiana in my county it was a month wait.
I called the ‘hood and was in 2 days later.
They told me black and hispanic folks are not getting the vax.
The vaccines are provided by the fed gov so they can’t discriminate based on your residence location.
Here in Ohio, it’s being administered oldest first now. Nursing homes and front line workers were at the front of the line. Now it’s prioritized by age and susceptibility. Our Governor has done a pretty darned good job really. Very efficient and pragmatic.

Have you heard anything about changes to supply deliveries?
I am struck by a dramatic slowdown in deliveries, as reported by the CDC. Maybe there is a new weekend effect to their reporting, but it has been a shocking slowdown - a virtual halt for 2 days.

It has been 28 hours since my Bride and I got our first Pfizer shot.
We are both still alive, my wife is a little tender at the injection site. No tender spot with me unless I bang it against something.
According to my CPAP machine, I had a good night’s sleep, 100 points out of 100.
I forgot that I had a shot until we got to our last morning PT exercise, where you back up to a door jamb and touch the over hang with one hand while touching the frame below the underside as far as you can reach down. By the time I got to 37, we do 40 times, with each hand/arm). I could feel it. 30 Minutes later both arms were fine. We label that rep as torture.
We know 5 other couples basically our age low 80’s, who have had the injection and so far no problem.
There were no real discomfort with the injected arm.
While I have my concerns about a lot Governor Dewine has done, the state is doing a good job on prioritizing the vaccination program and implementing it well. Friend in Hawaii learned some 22 year olds in a college dormitory got the vaccine a few weeks ago while his immune compromised wife (no spleen, bad asthma, other issues and over 65) was still waiting to even get on the list for a shot. Democrat states are the worst, who knows what is going on.
Interesting to see how Israel has really made progress, way ahead of the rest of the world.
I held my nose and voted for DeWine last time around because he had an R next to his name. His NRA rating has always been an issue for me but I won’t need to hold my nose the next time. He earned reelection AFAIC.

The last report I saw had West Virginia at the top, over 70% administered, California was next to last, down in the 20’s.

Ah, I refound the link. It LOOKS like there is a lot of improvement in shots administered by many states. Of course, lack of deliveries can also drive up the percentages as shots administered continue...
ND now in the lead.
Most of the folks that I have talked to, said they felt more from the second shot, than from the first (a sign that it is working).
Typically, the first shot symptoms are just from the physical injection - mild site soreness.
With the second shot, folks say they have some flu-like symptoms, typically for several hours, starting several hours after the shot. So plan for an easy day after the second shot - no wild night.
