I agree with your assessment. I voted for Trump and donated generously to him but at times wished he would have toned down the self-centered antics and struck a more presidential tone. Such mannerisms tended to turn people off, even those who supported his agenda and sympathized with with him in his battle against the entire DC Swamp.
He was entertaining and fun to watch but he also generated lots of resentment from people who didn’t like his combative style. I know a few of those people. There is no question in my mind that his outsized personality hurt him during the election. You simply can’t afford to alienate anyone when you’re in a tight race.
This was my private fear as well. LOVE Trump and always was entertained by him, but I feared his demeanor was alienating the wishy-washy limp wristed undecided voters. I had a concern about “Trump fatigue” setting in.
Plus to be honest last time he was running against a woman and many men simply will not vote for a female Prez, especially a screeching feminazi like Hilldawg. This time he was running against a man (not much of one but still).
