Remember the Silk Pony John Edwards saying there are two America’s?
Well, he was right, but not for the reasons he thought it.
Don’t let these garbage bills distract from the job that needs to be done.
Namely, the 50 State Legislatures, especially in GOP controlled states, need to strengthen the voting laws,
Yes. They pick the winners anyway. Let’s be transparent about it.
It will become an arms race of cheating. Many states will report 300% of their state populations in ballots cast.
More Cowbell!
They have had the taste of success.
“Here we go.”
Way too soon to propose legislation. Much analysis of our voting procedures needs to be done first.
“The fix is in...”
Yup. The United States as a constitutional republic is a thing of the past.
I turn 70 this year, so I am in the fourth quarter and am running out of time, but I still have all my timeouts; the bad guys have the ball on my forty-yard line, first-and-ten. They’re ahead by seven and want to run out the clock. I’ve called a 5-2 defense.
the legislation is meant to “fight voter suppression.”
What the hell?! Where have you been? Texas’ common-sense voter I.D. Laws have been trashed and thrown out several times by federal lawsuits. States have been told that they can’t verify whether people are citizens before they register to vote. You can’t even ASK them at polling places anymore.
The same will happen with any other election integrity measures. You’re operation under some standard that hasn’t existed for at least a decade.
Secession.
Eventually they will find that the ones voting this in are not necessarily the ones that will get reelected.
When the party owns the votes the party decides the winner, comrade.
No need for anything other than video taped basement campaigns, but fund raising will be a must.
Unless Texas secedes, then voting laws won’t mean anything because the Federal Government will declare them invalid.
The new guidelines will stipulate that the ballots need not be actually mailed. They will simply be assumed to be D votes.
Part of the bill in Section 1014:
(C) FUNDING DEPENDENT ON CERTIFICATION—If a state does not timely file the certification required under this paragraph, it shall not receive any payment under this part for the upcoming fiscal year.
(D) COMPLIANCE OF STATES THAT REQUIRE CHANGES TO STATE LAW—In the case of a State that requires State legislation to carry out an activity covered by any certification submitted under this paragraph, for a period of not more than 2 years the State shall be permitted to make the certification notwithstanding that the legislation has not been enacted at the time the certification is submitted, and such State shall submit an additional certification once such legislation is enacted.
So it sounds as though this bill forces legislatures to change state law to mirror the contents of the House Resolution.
Mail in voting = Massive, ongoing fraud = Rat Party rule forever.
First priority:
Cement permanent and absolute power. 16 will turn out to be last semi honest election
Only because Texas has the misfortune to having been a member of the confederacy, and having had "segregation" before the Civil Rights era kicked in. That is the ONLY justification by which the courts have muddled with voting issues.
There are MANY states to which the above cannot apply. In neither case does CONGRESS have the authority to regulate voting in any way. The Constitution is VERY specific, that such rules are the sole prerogative of state legislatures.
Mail-ins promote FRAUD!!!!
Only a few very well attested (by signature, address, etc.) traditional absentee ballots should be allowed!
I hope that Red-State attorneys general sue over this one, too, and that Republicans in Congress resist it with all their might!
And I hope that all the evidence for the fraud in the 2020 Presidential election comes out in an effective manner, leaving bidenites with egg on their faces!!!!
By the way, anyone—even if honest—who voted via mail-in in the 2020 election is guilty of promoting fraud! SHAME ON YOU!!!!
