Right - so does allowing alcohol to be legal "make citizens addicts"? If not, why does allowing marijuana to be legal "make citizens addicts"?

You missed my point. People don’t know how their personal gene pool will react to a foreign substance introduced into their body. Some folks smoke one cigarette and are addicted for life and others smoke for a few years and just walk away from them. It seems strange the government fought for years to get people to quit tobacco and now turn the other way for smoking marijuana. It also appears to me that when they interview marijuana smokers on TV they all look like they are in lala land.
