I mean if you die in a car accident and they called it Covid because they swabbed your nose in the ER trauma bay right before you died (very unlikely) and it came back positive, that's fraud and "they" should be prosecuted. But if they swab you and your positive and they put you on the med surg floor and you develop a secondary bacterial pneumonia (extremely common) and then you develop sepsis (also extremely common) and then they send you to the ICU where you die from disseminated intravascular coagulation and renal failure secondary to sepsis secondary to bacterial pneumonia secondary to Covid infection, it's perfectly reasonable to state that you died of Covid and to seek medicare reimbursement based on all of that.
