“I seem to recall seeing a headline that that Trump’s lawyers had decided not to represent him in any election challenge.”

I recall seeing that they wouldn’t represent him, not that they “decided not to”. Maybe they did. I assumed it meant that other lawyers would who would be better on the specific issue.

Dershowitz has volunteered. Don’t know about Jay Sekulow. I believe his son, Jordan, back-stabbed Trump, as did Pat Cippolone. It’s a mess.

“I have wondered for some time that if Trump had had competent legal representation following the election whether he might have won some of his legal challenges?”

How does one argue a case when judges refuse to hear it. What evidence has ever been presented in court? None!

“You can’t blame this on Giuliani or Trump running an “amateur-hour operation”.”

True. Blaming them is a bit like blaming the guy who was beaten up by three men, for lacking martial arts skills. One could blame German Jews for not fleeing Germany before the rise of Hitler. One can go on and on. Generically, it can be called blaming the victim. Or one could call it Monday morning quarterbacking.

The election was stolen and the blame should go to the thieves and their myriad enablers and apologists.

Byrne seems to be a smart, entertaining guy with a healthy ego. So he gives his perspective. Sure it should be taken with a grain of salt. Certainly anyone else who cares to speak out and give their perspective will likely present things differently.

Why is Byrne speaking out? Is he just saying “not my fault”? Or is his recounting meant to facilitate a better response in the future? Maybe both. Anyway, it’s fun to read.

Let’s say he is. He makes sure you keep that impression.

I think the tell-all aspect of the writing is what wrankles people. It might be better received if it were written in a more objective tone.

I have heard these rumors for some time. One of the things unclear had/has been the roles of Mike Meadows vs Giuliani. I had been under the presumption that most of the mediocrity had come from Meadows. The lack of teamwork and the difficulty of other lawyers volunteering their support has been claimed by others.

Also knew of Sydney and Flynn’s plan for imposing limited martial law to capture and check the audited votes. They were continuously denied access to the president and finally shut-out of visiting the whitehouse in Mid-December. This time would have been about the last practical day to mount that operation. What a shame!

The rumor of millions of dollars of donations either lost or ill-spent has been around too! I am sure we will find out more.

Again this highlights the great weakness of Trump, whether it be his lawyer team, his cabinet, or key agency posts. He did not know how to pick them!

Regarding the fatal explosion of the Senator’s aid car, he hints at something but does not go into this. Maybe there is more to this?

Lends credence to the story of Trump firing him and not paying his legal fees. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to who Mr Mediocre was?

Well, he’s not a lawyer. He perhaps believed, or was told, that Giuliani was on the ball with this. Trump probably also believed the Supreme Court would step up here in the face of overwhelming evidence with respect to states illegally changing election laws and was quite rightfully thunderstruck when they did nothing about this theft.

I think even had the President had a crack team, it was apparent the courts were profoundly corrupted and threatened and would refuse to step in.

“I think Trump and Republicans were largely unprepared and blindsided.”

They should not have been. It was discussed often here on FR before the election, and key people knew about the Dominion problem. Warnings about this were given before the election.

There was significant amount of early criticism on FR of Trump’s team being unprepared, undermanned, and underfunded as the law-fare state began.

A few of us know the answer to those questions. The rest have not woken up yet.

Sorry, I don't buy it.

If Trump had ordered the existing US military to impose (illegal) martial law in the US, he would not have lived 24 hours - and I'm sure Pence and others told him that.

The courts respond to the arguments in the filings that are submitted. Competent attorneys might have made different arguments that might have led to different results. Don't assume corruption on one part for something that could have easily been caused by stupidity on the other part.

You’re not wrong in the first part. But this analysis had to do with the botched job on the part of the team led by Giuliani. They absolutely needed to be top-notch, and sadly, they weren’t. Now, as I concluded in a prior post, even had ALL the evidence been exposed across the board with a crack team of lawyers and experts/wonks, the courts weren’t going to step in due to either being corrupt (see: PA Supremes) or outright threatened (SCOTUS).

This overthrow of President Trump and the theft of the Congress’s GOP majority (which they won, BTW, but the seats were stolen on the same day as the Presidency and culminated with the GA Senate races theft earlier this month) was the single-greatest criminal act of Derp State collusion in the history of the Republic. Countless thousands of people should face the charge of high treason and its penalty of death.

Trump didn’t need Sydney Powell to tell him the military would have to step in. He’s known this for four years. Our system is broken. The constitutional process has been corrupted but Trump had to try to make a case all the way through the courts and state legislatures to prove it to the public. Now everyone with a functioning brain knows.

The only thing left to do is let Joebama scare the bejesus out of everybody for a couple months so they will accept the solution which is already in place but has not been made public yet.

As I was told by a left-wing politician and historian, alcoholism has been an epidemic amongst politicians regardless of affiliation.
