Until she is out of office, I am not impressed. These swampers never face justice.

Well everybody is basically trying to reroute their bearings....heck even I am!... But lets wait and see how things go with the party, they certainly know they're on very very thin ice regarding support.

Agree. Those who despise Trump for his twitter etc., need to look at what he did for our America.

“for whatever reason he just doesn’t like Trump......like a family member I have who likes what Trump has done for the country but hates ‘his style’.”

And that’s fine. Not everyone has to like everyone. But what’s not fine is confusing his personal animosity toward Trump with something that would be the legitimate basis for impeachment and conviction. Telling people to go the Capitol to protest election fraud isn’t any sort of crime let alone a high crime or misdemeanor. And even if it were, the U.S. Senate isn’t the proper venue to try a private citizen. If DJT committed the crime of incitement, then charge him in the regular criminal court system. Put up or shut up.

Everybody? You know this for fact? Where were you when we last fought commies in the early 60-70’s? We had SF in Laos in the late 50’s.

Trump needed to work on his intonations: too late now...

Why haven’t they stripped those five senators of all committee assignments?

Not good enough. Demand resignation. Censure is a big fat nothing.

I can’t agree he’s worthless......his voting record has been on board with Trumps agenda all along while he was in office......for whatever reason he just doesn’t like Trump......like a family member I have who likes what Trump has done for the country but hates ‘his style’.

I've seen that when "most people that hate his style" are questioned, they really revert to what they mean, "Donald Trump is a good looking billionaire that cheated on his wives" {and gets away with it}.

I've seen some of my friends gag on that fact but finally admit it.

It is not his tweets, it's his middle finger and blunt, "This is me, take it or leave it" style both in life and in politics.

It's kinda like the old Gibbs in the original NCIS, "Apologies are a sign of weakness".

Trump is an original, with all of his flaws, "Take it or leave it".

While I agree with the general concept of laying all this out for the NE GOP, the document needs some restructuring and tightening up. It would make the resolution much more powerful.

I would add the requirement for Mr. Sasse to publically state he is a Republican. Once he does so, put together a second resolution that actually states what Republicanism used to mean (read: conservatism) and that Mr. Sasse is no republican. Let him hang himself with his own words.

Send these documents to every online and print publication in the state. Prepare a press release with a Reader’s Digest of the declaration(s) and provide it to every broadcast station in the state. Show up at his town halls and publically ask him about it.

Ask the NE GOP to help you. If they do not, they are supine invertebrates. (but I bet you knew that).

For some Trump is an acquired taste in his style of delivery. We all know it’s not customary, but people had problems with Reagan’s delivery as well.

I think the real issue is the politicians all wanted someone ‘like them’ and Trump wasn’t going to even try to fit into their mode. That’s not what he was there for.... Further he was “the boss” and they sure didn’t like that. We loved it!

Why is it that everyone Nebraska sends to Washington is a flaming asshole? Remember Chuck Hagel?

Ask Liz Cheney what the point is. Her State Central Committee censured her, and now Cheney’s political career is swiftly swirling down the crapper.

Cheney was a newcomer who only got on the ballot in the first place because of her daddy's name. It's not as if Wyoming gets a lot of bacon off the federal hog to begin with, and there isn't much of a Democratic party in Wyoming, so there's not much risk in switching candidates in the next election.

Sasse has a power base in Nebraska. Those supporters who have benefited from his tenure or expect to do so in the future will support him no matter what he has done. John McCain got censured by the Arizona Republican party and it never made any difference to his election prospects. Nebraska also has a viable Democratic party so a bad primary fight might put the seat at risk.

In Arizona Republican governor Ducey has been censured, and his political career is over. It is also an indication that the State party is no longer run by the likes of McCain or Flake. Sasse may have just won election, but he should not be given a position of importance in Congress. Nonetheless, he will survive, and likely thrive, because of the excremental Mitch the Turtle.

Not a Nebraskan, but this is terrific. Of course, no idea where it will go but sure does define and summarize Ben Sasse.
