I now have over 140 signatures on my petition for the Resolution of Censure against Senator Ben Sasse.

Each day I return home from work, I have another 5 or 6 calls on my answering machine, from Nebraskans who want to sign the petition. Others want a copy mailed to them, so they can pass it around to their friends and neighbors, then send it back to me.

Last night, I received a call from a freelance reporter for Newsmax.com - and spoke with him for an hour about my Resolution.

The February 13th State Central Committee meeting was cancelled /postponed, due to winter weather forecast - supposedly it will be rescheduled for March. However, the weather forecast is not that serious - and I know for fact that Governor Pete Rickets has voiced his objection to these censor resolutions.

Lt. Governor Mike Foley was supposed to be a guest speaker at a public discussion (hosted by Nebraskans For Founders’ Values - NFFV) on the legislative process in the Nebraska Unicameral. Foley cancelled his appearance, so to attend the SCC meeting, and discourage the push for censuring Senator Sasse. The GOP establishment is terrified that these censure resolutions will signal “blood in the water” to the Democrats.

The only thing the establishment GOP is accomplishing is to further stoke the fires of anger in grass roots Republicans out here.

There is another new thread on FR right now advocating, basically, no resistance beyond prayer

Christ fought back, with action, with parables, with sly comments, with a group of supporters he called and trained to carry on the work of resisting and changing bad aspects of the world society in which he lived.

I called Senator Thune’s office to register the reasons I wanted him to take a stronger stand against the Impeachment Trial, mostly to keep alive my First Amendment rights.
I told them I had been a supporter back in the day when he seemed an up and comer, and it was useless to call my current California senators.

I called my representative’s office (Kevin McCarthy) to let them know I was disappointed he hadn’t been as forthright in opposition to the Impeachment as my former representative (prior to redistricting), Devin Nunes.

Nebraska is farmers and ranchers plus Omaha and Lincoln. Farmers and ranchers product prices are controlled by the government thus they are welfare queens even though most are quite prosperous. Omaha has a huge welfare population, and Lincoln is a college town. The farmers are generally conservative, but none the less highly dependent on government. The high population in Omaha and Lincoln control the state, and between welfare and college commies its not going to produce true conservatives any time soon. My two cents FWIW.
