Believe it or not, that’s one of the main arguments against it.

I am originally from Connecticut. If you look at the northern border, it is a straight line except for a notch that was taken from us by Massachusetts, so there are precedents.

I had always assumed that that notch there was to better fasten Connecticut to Massachusetts and thus prevent CT from simply sliding into the North Atlantic.
