From what I’m seeing, nobody is going to offer you a vaccine unless you are a doctor or nurse, you are going to have to find where they are being distributed and what hoops you have to jump through to get one. Appointments and such as that. You will need to take an active role.
Hopefully they will get them soon. Or are they thinking that just one shot offers some help, so lets get others their first shot and delay the second for a couple of week?
I have heard that some folks are complaining about not being able to get the shot.
We are so used to going to the store and getting what we want. I thought that Covid would have cured us of our “normalcy bias”. The idea that things will be like they have been.
The vaccines are brand new and probably only a few places can make them. 330 million Americans aren't going to be able to walk into the pharmacy tomorrow and get them!
They're hedging and saying "six weeks is good enough". I sure hope they get them soon.
I did get my first one and have an appointment in three weeks to get my second. Over here in Maryland the county health department is running it - by group, pre-register to determine eligibility followed by email link to set up appointment. Worked well for #1 and I am optimistic it will for #2.
Each state had to set their own rules and I suspect some are better thought out than others.
There was a slowdown in vaccine deliveries since Thursday.
They may already be skimming off a big chunk of the US supply.
Will Hunter be collecting the kickback himself, or does he now have taxpayer funded staff to do that, so he doesn’t have to put on pants?
But I know that there is a lot of anxiousness that “THEY” aren't moving fast enough. “Their next lottery isn't until the end of February!!”
If the absence of toilet paper at Costco wasn't a wake up call that supply doesn't always meet demand when a huge disruption comes along, I don't know what will.
(Due to covid, we are waiting 6 weeks for a new refrigerator. Luckily the 30-year old one we have is working (although making some odd noises), but my wife wanted a new one.
The sales clerk was a bit taken aback when she told me the delay and I replied “Whatever. When you can't get a part from China that is understandable.”
I was curious about the spacing of the two shots. Off the top of my head I would think that a delay would not be a big deal, other than lengthening the time that one is “protected.”
Above is a link that doesn’t really answer the question, but does talk about taking the first dose and thinking they are safe and then don’t use precautions.
Nevada is the worse state for vaccination. I live in one of the cow counties that went 65% for Trump. The Dem governor is making sure that the Democrat counties, Washoe and Clark, are getting the lion’s share of what little there is to be given out. The VA has told me that they will contact me by email when some becomes available.
Do you have to live in one of those counties to get a vaccine, or is being a Nevada resident good enough to sign ip?
I live in what is called the quad county area. Douglas, Carson, Story and Lyon. There were some vaccinations available but they have all been taken. These were given to first responders, and those 75 and over. I’m 73. Reno is 50 miles to the north and Vegas is 400 miles to the south. Nevada generally doesn’t have much vaccine available. In Nevada only 4.6% have received one shot. Most of those went to those in Clark County (Vegas). I’ll wait to the VA.
Best to you FRiend
Why would a perfectly healthy human want this?
vaccinate the democrats first
everyone else will wait 6 months or more
thanks
