Heres how impartial Leahy will be.
On Jan. 6, Leahy issued a statement in response to the Capitol attack in which he said Trump “promotes delusional conspiracy theories and encourages felonies.
He has been a longtime Critic & voted against him in the previous farcical impeachment.
On day one of the impeachment hearing....this will be among the first ten questions that are thrown at Leahy himself. He will basically say that he’s not impartial and that destroys the whole intent of the ‘circus’.
As for why it had to be Leahy in this case? I went and looked at the list of Democratic Senators. No judges in the group, although around twenty-odd lawyers. Leahy seems to have left legal practice back in the early 1970s...so that will be another question asked, when did you actually last practice law (over 50 years ago will be the response)?
I think Schumer just asked for volunteers and Leahy was the only person raising his hand. The closer you get to this start-up...the aggravation he’ll feel, and closer he’ll get to a heart-attack. If they get three or four days into this, and he has one....then what? If he dies literally there on the floor of the Senate, Schumer is the one responsible in the end.
