Bitar’s rise through the ranks speaks to the abandonment of Israel by the Democrats and the ineptitude of pro-Israel advocates at fighting the personnel battles that define the government.
During the Obama administration, organizations that claimed to be advocating for Israel would come out to D.C. and take pride in receiving a personal briefing from Bitar about Israel’s security without having a clue about who Bitar was or how hard he must have been laughing at them.
Policy battles aren’t won at the executive level, but at the personnel level. The Left keeps winning policy battles even when moderates and conservatives win elections because it understands that having its people in a position to make policy matters more than elections.

Falk was also a top communist lawyer in the pro-Hanoi “Lawyers Committee on American Policy Towards Vietnam”, a CPUSA created group that was literally a Party front, a professor of law at the leftist Princeton Law School, a key UN “raparteur” on the Middle East, etc.

Piasa and the writer Greenfield have it right. What we have is a reconstruction (but actually a covert on-going) Obama/Powers/Jarrett/Rice/Rhodes/Malley anti-Israel cabal of mixed Marxists/Communists/pro-PLO/Fatah, and just plain anti-US foreign policy govt officials.
Obama had this covert group/network throughout his administrations and it showed up in his/Administration’s hostility to PM Netanyahu and Israel in general from 2009-2016, and now remerging like a 17 year Cicada to destroy Pres. Trump’s pioneering peace efforts in the Middle East, the destroying of the Islamic (ISIS) caliphate, the killing of Iran’s top terrorist in the Middle East (Suleimani) and to reverse US efforts to stop Iranian/proxy-Houthi aggression and expansion in Yemen.
Biden the brain-damaged, is just following his master’s plans to cripple Israel and force it to make concessions to the Jihadists of Hamas, Hezbollah and Fatah, as well as Syria and Iran. Kamala Harris, as a “Red Diaper Baby”, is fine in going along with this anti-Israel policy. Why not? She’ll inherit it when Biden is in a padded cell at home, dribbling oatmeal down his chin and asking what state he’s in (besides the state of confusion and dementia).
Guys like Bitar and the old Obama Gang have either been appointed or nominated to every keep national security agency/department in the US government, and the aim of Obama/Biden/Harris is to make America into a second rate nation, reverse its gains in both national and international security moves and agreements, and to let Iran and Red China rule the Middle East, SE/Eastern/Southern Asia, a good part of the Pacific and Indian Oceans, and even ports throughout Africa, the Pacific and possibly Latin America.
Bitar is only one of a number of these “enemies of freedom” who are now embedding themselves in the flesh of America like an Ebola disease and blood-sucking leech.
Consider the CIA targeted for compromise (Haspel? don’t know whether she can maintain any independence for it with Biden/Harris and Schiff/Swalswell running the show; Wray at the FBI is useless; the head of DHS is a dangerous person; the head of DOJ’s national security divisions are weak to compromised; the IRS may be back in action against conservatives but definitely will ignore leftists like Soros, BLM, Antifa, etc; and the National Security Council is now a home to America’s enemies.
This situation is similar to the appointment of Soviet agents to top security/policy positions in the FDR administration from Alger Hiss, Remington/Coe, Harry Hopkins (I have no doubt that he was working with, if not for, the Soviets), Harry Dexter White, Lauchlin Currie, etc., this despite warning from journalists such as Isaac Don Levine (who brought Whitaker Chambers to the White House and A.A. Berle), Military Intelligence, J.W. Hoover/FBI, and some pro-American OSS officers (as versus the Communists in the OSS who sold out Albania, Vietnam, Yugoslavia and nearly Greece/Italy).
It’s going to be a long year but we must urge conservative, trustworthy Senators and Representatives to challenge these nominations, policies and treason, OUT LOUD and on a CONTINUING BASIS. Our country’s existence depends on them doing this.
