Sums it up. Applies to so much. I see utter fear in the masses. The media and politicians are a virus also.
The teachers are easy. If they don’t teach than don’t pay them.
Today was the first commercial tv I've watched since the election (football games). Not ONE mention of covid 19. Nobody in the commercials wearing masks. No mask shaming. Truly incredible.
Watch. They'll say they won't return to the classroom until every child gets vaccinated. Right now there is no approval for a vaccine for children under the age of 16.
However, fear is much more easily stoke than quelled, and even their mass-media propaganda ministry may not be able to cage the monster they have created.
That's the trouble when one creates monsters.
Right now I am trying to process how we screwed up and what we can do now to fix it. Quite clearly we have failed. I am quite despairing at this point.
‘Anecdotal examples of people going insane over others not wearing their masks properly (or not wearing them at all) are showing just how obsessed millions of Americans have become.’
thank our female dominated society for that...
‘She was clearly terrified of the Evil COVID Cloud that certainly must be emanating from this unmasked heretic before her.’
as my post #47 depicts...
‘People driving alone in cars or walking alone in a park wearing masks.’
I’ve crossed paths with maskers on isolated walking paths; I fix them with a cold stare, and if they say hello I pointedly ignore them...
“Then there are a few (like me—I think I have discussed this with you before) who use to pandemic to make excuses for avoiding trips I don’t want to take or going to gatherings I don’t want to go to. :-)”
My wife and I were still $crewing around with our Cali DMV to get the driver’s licenses to fly.
Both of us have decided no.
We just had Costco’s 2 hour delivery which actually was about 1.5 hours after we placed our order on the internet.
Great prices, and our order was delivered to our back door ramp in our carport.
Mainly, my wife and I love to cook/grill with fresh veggies and good fish/beef or pork.
In the spring time from about 1 April to the first week in November, we get our produce about 2-3 times per week from this great farm family. Their stand is about a nice 5 minute drive from our home. There are rumors that they may start home delivery about 3 times a week for good customers.
Both of us in good weather, prefer to eat outside in a good restaurant’s garden areas. Being retired, we can show up at the end of lunch hours, get good seating and service.
A top chef has opened a strictly take out restaurant. Besides normal food, they have a special basically every holiday or every 4/5 weeks. Their last special was cioppino ordered by phone for pickup. They had over 200 cioppino orders this last time. They now fix our Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s and Easter meals.
My wife felt guilty until we had a great Thanksgiving meal, and she didn’t have to spend days preparing, cooking and helping me to clean up during and after. After we finished all that we could eat, she informed me this was our standard from now on.
Our monthly mileage is down to about 40/50 miles per month.
I shouldn’t laugh at other’s expense, but now everybody out there knows what I go through whenever I light up a cigar in public.
The Karens are everywhere—convinced that one puff at one hundred feet will strike them dead.
