I think this is pretty much a myth. I doubt if very many were ignorant of FDR’s disability. The press did choose to not show it, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t well known.

FDR helped to found the March of Dimes a charity devoted to polio (that’s why he’s on the dime btw) and the press did cover his trips to Warm Springs, GA which was known a facility for treating polio.

The fact that FDR was in a wheel chair and stood (and even faked walked with help) using braces didn’t much diminish his ability to function as POTUS. Biden’s problems are quite a bit different. I seriously doubt he is capable of discharging his duties as POTUS and in today’s world, keeping that secret is going to be difficult.

The press was able to suppress Hunter’s laptop from much of the public, but a very large percentage knew about it. Hiden’ Biden, I don’t think will be possible.
