Former President Donald Trump’s Washington, D.C., hotel posted a video on Friday that showed the hotel serving as a rest area for local police officers. "A heart full of gratitude to all our law enforcement officers...Enjoy America’s Living Room and great having you all with us... @DCPoliceDept,” Mickael Damelincourt, the managing director for the district's Trump International Hotel, tweeted on Wednesday morning, just before President Biden was inaugurated blocks away. The video was posted the same week that National Guard troops were relegated to sleeping in a parking lot after securing the inauguration, drawing outrage from politicians on social media.
“I just visited the solders who have been abandoned & insulted by our leaders,” freshman Rep. Madison Cawthorn, a Republican, tweeted on Thursday. “I brought them pizza and told them that they can sleep in my office. No soldier will ever, ever sleep on a garage floor in the US Capitol while I work in Congress. Our Troops deserve better.”

Capitolpolice? Are they the ones who shoved the NG into tge garage?
“ Former President Donald Trump’s...”
Just— What?
The press referred to him a president trump never.
When everyone referred to biden as Vice President Biden during his whole stupid campaign even complaining how confusing it was.
WHY were the LOCAL police officers housed in President Trump's hotel, and not the out-of-state National Guard members?? Why couldn't the LOCAL police officers go HOME to rest?
Because when you’re on a 12+ hour shift at a high-security political event in DC it’s probably not feasible, or even permitted, to go through the checkpoints and cordons to “go home” for your 30 minute break.
Do you really want the NG to stay in DC forever? The story occurred on Jan 20. Governors should bring their NG home, as Texas did.
I predict that we will NEVER find out who ordered those troops out of the halls of the buildings.
I think the setup was 12 on & 12 off...
I don’t give a d-mn about the DC police. They are the ones that stood by while rioters were burning the church outside the WH during Trumps presidency and letting BLM and Antifa harrass and threaten Re[ublican members of Congress as they left an event at the WH. They are also the ones that stood by after a BLM idiot hit a Trump demonstrator in the face but then pepper sprayed the Trump supporters because they were upset that the cops did nothing. The DC police are nothing more than Bowser’s thugs. They don’t deserve support.
Machinegun Nanzi don’t care about no troops.
“I predict that we will NEVER find out who ordered those troops out of the halls of the buildings.”
.....of course and so it goes in a banana republic, look how they’re covering up the cold blooded murder of the female Air Force vet.
Well, I know why. Trump frequently opened his hotel for the local police, as a hospitality stop. When there are “activities” going on in DC that require the LEOs to work long shifts, Trump often set up a hospitality area in the Trump Hotel.
I’ve had photos sent to me over the past few years.
"Thousands of National Guard troops were invited to stay at former President Donald Trump's 'Trump Hotel' in Washington, DC after they were 'kicked out' of the Capitol building by police. At least 5,000 guardsmen and women — deployed at the Capitol to protect President Joe Biden's inauguration — were forced to take shelter in an underground parking garage after being ordered to vacate the building by Capitol Police."
"The soldiers were forced to sleep on the floor in freezing temperatures and had to share just one bathroom and one power outlet, sparking a major backlash. Speaking to OAN on Friday, January 22, one adviser revealed how Trump had stepped in and informed the troops they could stay at his luxury hotel near the Capitol. In a video shared by Trump’s Washington, DC hotel, local police officers were seen resting in the reception area."
