I don't think they're going to get the 'Night of the Long Knives' as it's too obvious. They're going to get the 'Months of Heroin' with the intent that they destroy themselves, paying for it themselves as they go.
Asking someone to commit a lot of murders is one thing, asking corrupt law enforcement to look the other way on drug trafficking is commonplace.
