The chairman of the Wyoming Republican Party on Friday said Western states are “paying attention” to the effort by some in Texas’ far-right to try to secede from the United States.
Appearing on former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast last week to discuss Rep. Liz Cheney’s vote to impeach Trump, Eathorne made the comment in response to a Bannon question about what conservatives should keep in mind in light of their movement’s recent political losses.
“We need to focus on the fundamentals,” Eathorne said on the broadcast, which was recently banned by YouTube for peddling misinformation about the 2020 election. “We are straight talking, focused on the global scene, but we’re also focused at home. Many of these Western states have the ability to be self-reliant, and we’re keeping eyes on Texas too, and their consideration of possible secession. They have a different state constitution than we do as far as wording, but it’s something we’re all paying attention to.”

Running away from the problem won’t solve it.
Liberals never run away from anyone, because their worldview seeks to dominate.
Conservatives need to have a bold worldview that seeks to dominate. Otherwise, we will be dominated.
Succession sounds great as a talking point. However, does anyone think that this could really occur. Even if the states and government were willing to divorce, the logistics to do so are overwhelming, particularly for the state. Don’t fall for this, its a distraction. Instead we should be going after our un-representatives.
I love it. If succession succeeds guess who will need the other more? The new country could outlaw all the isms except one.
It’s secession or do you know the difference?
When the elections are rigged and you have no standing in the court system, politics as usual is not an option to turn the ship around.
There is little to no effort in Texas to secede.
The question will never go to the voters and will not even make it out of a committee of the Texas Legislature.
I think America should eventually become 5 or 6 countries. Alaska and Hawaii should become independent. California. Portland and Seattle forming one country. Then you have the heartland. Maybe Texas and Florida can go on their own. Then you have Richmond, VA all the way up to Boston, MA forming the Megapolis.
Logical conclusion to a dictatorship. While you’re at it Wyoming, ditch the lizard bitch.
All roads now lead to “live free or die” ...
Secession is politics as usual.
I think there should be further division within each state.
Georgia and Arizona would need to fight their own Civil War first....
If you’re not willing to conquer the Megapolis, you are not fit to govern in this day and age, except as its vassal and bootlicker.
All roads lead to die. Live free is an illusion unless you are willing and able to conquer the oppressor.
Before you secede, why don’t you try assuming the powers granted to you by Nature and Nature’s God. Or at least by The Constitution. Governors Nuisance and Coomo showed the way. Just ignore Sleepy’s edicts and declare yourselves Sanctuary States.
Right now, no. But if the Government in D.C. starts to do something like to go after people's guns, you will see people in Texas do something about it.
I vaguely recall a report from years ago that was a prediction by some Russian experts that the United States would balkanize into six or seven smaller nations.
The West Coast, California, Oregon and Washington would break off to form “Cascadia”, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and possibly either or both Idaho and Utah may join that alliance. Montana, North and South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas would form another. There would be another along the lower range of the Mississippi from Iowa to the Gulf Coast, extending east into Tennessee and south to Mississippi. Another alliance would form around the Great Lakes states and their immediate neighbors. The parts east from there would fall into to distinct groups, from Virginia north in the Northeast, and from the Carolinas south to the Southeast.
It would not be long until these regions set to fighting among themselves, making the entire territory subject to invasion and colonization by other expanding empires.
Maybe this was just an idle dream by some people delving into speculation. Sobering thought anyway.
Texas is an urban state with four of the nation’s ten largest cities within the borders of the state. Texas will continue to become more of an urban state and less of a rural state. Those city folk will never vote to leave the Union.
I already see that happening now so in response to that, USA will have to be totalitarian, like what you see in China and Russia.
