I hate to be the luddite around here. Sometimes the efficiency of production hits hard. Every truck that goes thru town is a opportunity for a local to make money. Diners, truck service, etc all down the line.

But because moving the oil as if a river through a pipe is cheaper, those costs will go down for every customer. Both trucker and shop keeper. They won’t need as much of the business for the same income.
