In the winter of 1964, Beatlemania was sweeping the country. If you lived in Southern California, the Beatles' "I Want to Hold Your Hand" was dominating airplay on the Southland's two rock blasters KRLA and KFWB. However, you would hear none of that on KPOL or KFI, Adult Contemporary music stations where the latest Andy Williams opus dominated the playlists.
Charade--Andy Williams (1964)
Yes, I remember it well.
Andy Williams’ version of “The Days Of Wine And Roses” would have been just a routine song but for the nearly off-key ending.
It was a downer, just like the movie.
Musical magic.
