If you had seen that it was from the Babylon Bee, you would have known that it was satire.

Of course, the satire is telling because there are indeed voters who will act like the fictitious Bud Harper, even if they wouldn't be that clear about their reasoning.

Murkowski didn’t exactly lose to Sarah Palin. Murkowski lost the 2010 Republican primary to Joe Miller, who was endorsed by Palin. As others have noted, Murkowski then won the general election as a write-in candidate.

There was a Murkowski-Palin race, but it involved Lisa Murkowski’s father, Frank Murkowski. In 2006 he was the incumbent Governor, seeking re-election. Sarah beat him in the Republican primary and, of course, went on to win the governorship.

I think that action, and the results, were the first warning sign, to the ones that hadn’t already seen the situation, about the corruption going on.
