What Trump should have done is eliminate the entire operation, sell their assets and pour salt on the earth.
The same for places like the Department of Energy and whatever the Rural Electrification Board is called today. But as Reagan said, “There is nothing so close to immortality as a government program.”
Unfortunately he never had enough on the ground in Congress political power to do that. All of those agencies owe their existence to legislation. It will take legislation to get rid of them.
