The Japanese government has privately concluded that the Tokyo Olympics will have to be cancelled because of the coronavirus, and the focus is now on securing the Games for the city in the next available year, 2032.
According to a senior member of the ruling coalition, there is agreement that the Games, already postponed a year, are doomed. The aim now is to find a face-saving way of announcing the cancellation that leaves open the possibility of Tokyo playing host at a later date. “No one wants to be the first to say so but the consensus is that it’s too difficult,” the source said. “Personally, I don’t think it’s going to happen.”

They’d be better off to host this waste of an Olympics in exchange for the 2032 games. They’d unlikely get the 2032 games if they cancel this one.
Not that I watch them anyway.
Maybe they can move it to Hiroshima or Nagasaki and then whatever lies about deaths that WHO promulgates will be swamped by previous events.
Maybe Japan could try and get China to host the Olympics in Wuhan.

Just cancel the games and be done with it. Other than the athletes themselves no one will care. The IOC is even more corrupt than the DNC, which is a very high bar indeed.
They can host the Olympics without fans. Require all the athletes to show up at the Olympic Village 21 days early. Don’t they usually do that anyway?

Considering all the antifa rhetoric going around these days... I’m surprised the Olympics has not been protested. Why? Because the model of the modern Olympic Games was taken from the 1939 Nazi Germany Olympic Games, pageantry, torches.... That in itself should either be reason enough! Or, there’s a lot of hypocrisy out there which indicates that it’s all just payola.
At this point even the Olympics will be unwatchable, no matter where and when they happen.
Who wants to see 24-7 coverage of kneeling, power salutes, rants against “privilege”, sob-stories of climate-inundated homelands, men racing against women, and commercials full of socialistic schmaltz?
Just give all qualifying athletes Olympic Participation Medals and call it good, why is this so hard to figure out?
this was scheduled for 23 to 27 June 2021; Olympics is scheduled to begin 23 July. won’t be surprised if Olympics is cancelled again.

The only sports I watch now are re-runs of MXC (Most Extreme Elimination Challenge) with Vic Romano and Kenny Blankenship calling the games. Captain Tenneal doing the side line starts and Guy LeDouche as a roving reporter.

Second time Tokyo had the Games cancelled, they were also supposed to host the 1940 Games but the war cancelled it.

I think this could very well be the end of the Olympics, period.
