A bad case of communications failure and lousy expectation management. What the Democrats were thinking is that the US Treasury would distribute $2K to each qualified recipient: $600 under the current law and $1400 under law yet to be passed by the new Congress.

Georgia voters assumed that they would receive an aggregate of $2600, $600 from the prior Congress and $2000 from the current Congress.

Oops.

They did promote that if you vote for demms and Joe Bidum you would get 2 grand.

Then they wonder why their low information voters get upset when they lied to them?

They did not promote get $1400, some probably won’t even get out of bed for such a pity amount.
