At least some forward-looking companies withheld one-twelfth or one_sixth of your pay from every oaycheck during the year to finally allow you to have it at the end of the year if you're still working there and if the company didn't spend it on something else.
Not allowed in the Philippines, Singapore or the Netherlands... it’s the law. Hell, in the Netherlands, we got 14th month pay.
