Just to emphasize this part of the story...it’s not the federal government of Germany discussing this. It is one state (of the 16 total), with a second state examining the idea. Anyone who felt threatened by the suggested activity...could just pack up their bags and move to another state where they would not take this extreme action.
Just another little oddity of how it’s not one single nation, but 16 states marginally tied together.
