Liberals are constantly telling conservatives they are living in an "alternate reality" whenever they want to shut down discussion of the facts. The hilarious aspect of this is that it is usually the liberals who live in an alternate reality, or reel-ality, since they often rely on movies for their information which turns out to be misinformation.
A recent example of this is the Netflix movie Mank about Hollywood screenwriter Herman Mankiewicz which has been cited over and over again as a realistic portrayal, especially his support of 1934 California gubernatorial candidate of socialist leanings, Upton Sinclair.
The basic plot of Mank is about the efforts of the heavy drinking Mankiewicz to write the script for "Citizen Kane." An important subplot and primary reason for the antipathy of Mankiewicz towards William Randolph Hearst upon whom Kane is based is the opposition of the newspaper mogul to Sinclair.

Why post this year? All FREEPERS said they got rid of NETFLIX. Ha!
Helps explain the obvious lefty bias of his probably grandson whatisname Mankiewicz who now hosts TCM movies and never misses a chance to badmouth the HUAC investigations into communist influences in Hollywood and how mean they were to all those poor lying, party members way back in the ‘50’s.....
I think his grandfather was Joseph Mankiewicz who produced the anti-Sinclair newsreels. Herman was pretty much an apolitical type. Give him a bottle and he was happy and he also didn’t give a crap about Upton Sinclair.
A movie about Hollywood made something up?
Oh heavens! LOL.
It made Orson Welles look like a real a-hole, also. Not that any one has ever disputed that.
I would say they are pigs, but that is an insult to pigs.
If you haven’t seen The Plot Against the President, I highly recommend it. On Prime.
Another good one is The Lie, also on Prime.
And on Netflix, The Queen’s Gambit.
The Spanish Princess, about Catherine of Aragon, was also entertaining. The actress who played Lady Margaret Beaufort had to have used Nancy Pelosi as inspiration, especially in the final episodes. I think that’s on Prime.
Netflix abandoning truth and reality was a done deal a long time ago - and is mild compared to the other garbage they push and distribute.
