I would refuse the check and go sit on a river bank until I perished.
Can I have your check?
Being retired, I want to stave off the time when Alpo becomes a treat for as long as possible.
“I would refuse the check and go sit on a river bank until I perished.”
You might want to keep part of it. That’s your part of the taxes you paid for them to give the money away using structural inequality.
Structural inequality occurs when the fabric of organizations, institutions, governments or social networks contains an embedded bias which provides advantages for some members and marginalizes or produces disadvantages for other members.
They are using the peoples’ money to create another welfare program, using the problem they created themselves, and are trying to ride in on their white horse to save the day and get votes and make people dependent.
Rather than take the money from the people to begin with, let those that will get a check just not pay that much in taxes. Saves administration fees and manpower. (It also removes from the government the money they can use for other things like a gender study in Pakistan)
Remember, not all taxpayers are equal. The rich pay most of the bill and have no problem. The middle pays part of the bill and have problems. And the poor receive the outcome of the problems. And as more poor come into the mix because of the problems, it perpetuates itself. And uncle sugar makes a concerted effort to get theirs as it goes by and tell you it was for the greater good. Wonder if they got a check since they already get one monthly for their version of welfare.
