But I know plenty of people from the late 60s on, who still managed not to see the real identities of these rogues and traitors who call themselves “Liberals” but who are in fact Treacherous underminers of American sovereignty. It was irresistible to them,from the beginning, this impulse to jump aboard the Hate-Trump Train. Reconstituted their old community of interests, and made ‘em feel righteous once again. I think the “Liberals/Hippies” you described were even then in the minority.”Living off the land” etc, were ideals that took a lot more long-haul commitment than most Hippies would be able to sustain.
The people now in their 70s still manage to sit, even if a little uncomfortably ,squarely within the current Dem Party and all its transgressions, all its deceit, and all of what should now be recognized as historical inner contradictions (for example, people on the Left are now pro-War, since Trump showed himself to be effectively anti-War. This “uneasy in my easy chair” posture many of them are provisionally feeling may fade fast in the first year of Biden/Harris, as it already looks like they’re having no probl
em putting the Cancel Culture on mega-steroids. Also the Dems/MSM have given a shot in the arm to their designs by managing to brand the Capital Bldg. event as strictly caused by Trump supporters, who then can be branded as “domestic terrorists”. The success of this branding opens up a lot of opportunities for oppression by them. Against us.And all of the proceeding was “Just for openers”.
On top of that this writer’s second paragraph keeps promulgating the myth that Jan 6 was all Trump supporters, hence making it easier to play into the hands of the Dems, when in fact it was instigated and effectively LED by the same people who did it all summer across America, and also at Trump’s first inauguration. Same people, and they announced publicly they were gonna do it.
