UK Police Chief: ‘Now Is Really Not the Time’ for Freedom of Speech, Right to Assembly

The chief constable of Dorset Police has urged lockdown protesters to accept that “now is really not the time” for freedom of speech and the right to assembly.

Chief Constable James Vaughan was speaking after the controversial arrest of two women for, seemingly, being recorded leaving home more than once and “sitting on a bench”, in an incident the police now allege was “stage-managed” by lockdown protesters, as one of the women is a Covid sceptic — although she denies any pre-planning.

“We appealed to them [the protesters] last weekend to say: ‘Look guys, we respect your right to freedom of speech and right to assembly but now is really not the time, it is too dangerous. Please don’t come, we have got other things we need to do,'” said the chief constable in comments to The Telegraph.

A time to assemble, a time to divide. A time for freedom, a time for tyranny.

What annoys the public is that for years taxpayers in the UK have had to put up with excuses about not enough police officers to investigate “secondary” crime such as robbery (property and person), vandalism and fraud. Woke matters, like calling someone names on social media, get an urgent response.

Suddenly the plague comes along and the police gain additional powers and there are officers a plenty to stop you going for a drive, walk or generally doing things the scientists can’t prove raise the infection rates. In fact because of the way the new rules have be written no laws are often broken and the police are just giving “words of advice”.

Yet when we had actual illegal gathering of large groups last year related to the BLM debacle, the police stood back and did nothing - except in a few well publicised cases knelt down while on duty. The police have in less than one year destroyed centuries of public trust.

According to Paul Joseph Watson, who lives in the UK and is a vocal critic, 3/4 of Brits approve of the Covid measures the government is decreeing. Brings in mind an old quote about not so much being afraid of slavery as being under the boot of a benevolent master.

VIDEO: 2m48s: 14 Jan: Metro UK: Runner stopped by Covid marshal for ‘breathing heavily’ during daily exerciseEmma Brazell
by Emma Brazell
A jogger was stopped by a Covid marshal for ‘breathing heavily’ during his Government-mandated daily exercise.
Gary Purnell was told he was not allowed to run along the River Thames in Hammersmith, London as he jogged alone during the third national lockdown.
The fuming author has named the situation ‘the craziest thing ever’ – but the leader of Hammersmith and Fulham Council says he will ‘offer no apology’ for discouraging runners from using the area at busy times...

Footage of the incident shows Gary ask: ‘Can I run along here? Everyone else is running along here.’
The marshal replies ‘there are Covid marshals’ before confirming that he is employed as one.
Gary asks: ‘So why can’t I run along here? Why can’t he run along here? Explain.’ The marshal responds: ‘Because you are breathing heavily.’

A second video shows Gary confront the marshal’s supervisor who says: ‘You can run, it’s not a problem. What it is is when the people pass you by’...

The footage ends with Gary stating: ‘You have to admit this is the most crazy thing in the world.’...
