Thanks for this reply.

My wife watched me reading the two pages that came with the new card.

She said you look lost. I tried to explain to her what the card was and all the restrictions and costs.

After about 1 minute, she said to me, “You carry the card and decide where to use it.”

She looked at the 2 pages and said, “I can just imagine how the average person feels after just looking at those 2 pages.”

I forgot to add: you can "opt out" of accepting the card by calling the customer service # (800-240-8100), and requesting they mail you a paper check instead.

I’ve been cashless for years except for small change. Checks. Credit card. Debit card. Authorization one-time or periodic withdrawal from my checking account.

What's the difference between the fedcoin and a Federal Reserve Note? Nothing if the country is worthless!

Don’t you love those cams on the self check outs? I guess I can get the old fake glasses and mustache disguise.

Our WallyWorld self checks still take cash....for now.

If I understand correctly, paper money was used during the American Revolution, but not after the Constitution was drafted and ratified. Justice Joseph Story refers to the evils of paper money which is probably why the states prohibited themselves from using paper money and constitutionally limited the feds to making coin money.

The reason the Constitution specifically stipulated that only gold and silver are actual money is related to a serious issue they had during the revolutionary war years with inflation. The Continental Congress had issued war script generally called "continental dollars". For most of the history of this country the phrase 'not worth a continental' referred back to this. Sadly, that phrase has mostly dropped from modern vernacular. If you're an old fogy you might remember it. Not so much for young folk.
